In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous. Aristotle

I dwell on the piles of snow, the blowing snow and the ice on the windows during the winter and I began to think that folks might think we don't have warm breezes and green grass in our part of Canada.

These photos were taken at our home in rural NB. Mother Nature is doing her best to put on a good show (with our help in some cases).

“Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature -- the assurance that dawn comes after night, and spring after winter.”
And summer after spring

Burning bushes greening up for the summer.
Gaining strength to turn red in the fall.

Rhododendron survived being buried in the deep snow

So beautiful as it ushers in the summer

A little piece of quiet under the apple tree

Green all the way to the water

Screen door painted black and ready to let in the summer

Yellow lilies primed to flourish

Wild rose that shields our deck and perfumes the air

Window boxes with yellow and white to complement
our chair cushions

A bit of whimsy for fun
Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of the water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is by no means a waste of time.

The long view of the river.

  1. So beautiful! Thanks for the pictures of your slice of heaven!

    1. Bits left to do then fingers crossed everything blooms. Now if I could find a way to stop the grass from growing so fast I would be in heaven. Always something to complain about!

  2. How beautiful! It is so hard to imagine all this bounty after the winter you had.

    1. Yes even we have to double check that this is what is really happening outdoors. We have to figure a way to have this season last longer than the winter one and we would have it made.

  3. Beautiful. I wish the month of June could go on for longer....

    1. June could be two months long and even then it would be too short.

  4. Your place looks so beautiful Mary. It's no surprise you love it so much. You need to bring out these pics next February or March😀

    1. I use them as screen savers as much as I can in the winter!!

  5. Very interesting blog. A lot of blogs I see these days don't really provide anything that attract others, but I'm most definitely interested in this one. Just thought that I would post and let you know.
