Bits and Pieces

Bits and Pieces

Oh the weather is delightful with a temperature of 26 degrees! Some tree trimming and branch piling  has kicked that old man winter right out of here. It is Bits and Pieces time again.  Wendy doctored these photos for us awhile ago and although the photos were not from this week's dinner party I've always wanted to use them. That is my husband with Wendy and me with another friend. Both who were here this weekend too.

Gratitude: I've discovered it is a wee bit difficult to thank some folks. I hosted and cooked a dinner for a few friends, all of whom did some nice things for us this past winter, telling them to only bring their favourite wine. Well since they are inherently nice people who do nice things for others they came bearing gifts, and emailed or phoned the next day to thank us for having the dinner party. These are just the kind of folks that you like to show how grateful you are, for who they are, not only for what they do for you.

Princess Babies: So nice to see the newborn princess with her parents on all the media sites. And of course there was the talk about how beautiful, or radiant or lovely Kate looked. She did look all of those things but it was only six hours after she gave birth!! A friend describing what was going on under that lovely dress, which happens to any woman who has just given birth, gave me pause. I feel for all the young women who are waiting to have their first or second child thinking that is the goal to live up to. I sure hope everyone keeps their perspective. I am sure Kate really didn't want to look like she felt when her photo was going to hit the web and everywhere else in between. She needed to get to her house and back into bed as much as the rest of us would and she deserves to. And we all know how much help could be there for her which most of the new regular moms won't get. So to all about to be moms remember she is a princess who lives in a fairy tale world.

Trip Taking: We are off to Nashville on Friday of this week. This was the trip we were supposed to take last year when my mother passed away. All I have been hearing is what a great destination it is and how much fun we will have. We are flying to Ontario and driving down with a van load of siblings which will be fun in and of itself. Here's to a great road trip.

Book Editing: Just found out to have my next Stella Page book professionally edited on Create Space will cost about $9400.00! I am hopeful my arithmetic is bad but in the meantime I am going to editor shop locally!

  2. Poor Kate....I'm aching for her. Love Prinny's name, though.

    1. I actually felt a little sorry for that baby only because of what is ahead for her. I hope her parents do the best they can to normalize her upbringing. Also wonder why Kate's family has no input on the naming of the baby. That needs some changing.

  3. Even though Kensington palace isn't too far we don't really go that crazy for Kate and it seems foreigners adore the royals more.

But have a great time in Nashville

    1. We get a lot of press on Kate and Will as we used to for Diana. Not much on Charles and Camilla though.
