I hadn't been there in thirty years. Lots of passing by and through which if anyone has tried to drive somewhere by going through Montreal will know it is a difficult city to get by.
But the prices in Boston for accommodations for this weekend were way too much for us. We all enjoy Quebec City but we have been there quite a bit so Montreal was our fall back to Boston. We were not disappointed.
Our drive along the St. Lawrence was beyond describing. I couldn't get a photograph that would do it justice so these are not mine but they capture the scenery the whole way.
This was the city we spent our time exploring. So many people and so many stores to spend money in and so little time! We did our best to support the local economy.
A visit to what our hosts referred to as a small market "the Atwater" captured for me what the harvest season is all about and why we need to give thanks for living in the country that we do.
“Hem your blessings with thankfulness so they don’t unravel.”
This little fellow came home with me from the market. He brings a smile whenever I look at him. My life is truly blessed with the family I have and with the amazing country I get to live in. |
Beautiful pictures! Forrest is off to Montreal this weekend and it is such a great city! How fun you got to go thanks to your mom!
ReplyDeleteIt was fun. Lots of shopping made it great too
Deleteare you kidding with those pics of the changing leaves??? that is so stunning and is that a bit early?
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful break!
No it's about right for the leaves. We are good if there are no serious rain or wind storms for another couple of weeks but in Quebec they were at their peak.
DeleteI so enjoyed your photos, and now I want to get to Montreal! hat market would be just my thing.
ReplyDeleteIt was lovely and as I mentioned apparently there is a larger one!!
DeleteBeautiful!! Our leaves don't really turn here in California, they just seem to "limp" and fall! Your little pumpkin is so clever. Stealing that idea for my grandson. Belated Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteThe pink hair is held on with a thick elastic band on the stem.
DeleteLooks and sounds like a great weekend!
